University Break-In Prompts Identity Theft Fears

Abstract
New Mexico Highlands University is warning students about possible identity theft risks after a recent break-in. An unknown number of individuals broke into several NMHU offices which the University believes may have contained personal information including Social Security numbers and credit card information. The University has sent e-mails to 420 individuals, recommending they place a fraud alert on their credit reports as a precaution.
