Student Workers Charged In Grade Changing Scheme

Quick Facts

Abstract
Thirty four Diablo Valley College student workers have been charged with participating in scheme to change student grades for money. The scheme, allegedly masterminded by Julian Revilleza, involved student workers in DVC's Admissions and Records Office changing and adding grades to student records for a fee of at least $100 a grade. Revilleza recently pleaded guilty to 15 counts of felony computer fraud and conspiracy and is serving at least one year in jail. In an open letter to the editor [pdf], DVC President Judy Walters discusses DVC's efforts to address the concerns of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges.
