Abstract
Bowdoin College is investigating a possible breach of student data. The college was notified that confidential information was available on a Bowdoin server to anyone with a valid username and password. The files, belonging to former student health program administrator Caitlin Guthell, contained student names, Social Security numbers, insurance information, lists of students on medical and disciplinary leave, internal health carrier contracts, employee reviews, yearly budgets and e-mail. The college is currently investigating the incident and Bowdoin CIO Mitch Davis thanked the Bowdoin Orient for alerting the college to this incident.
