Abstract
Franklin University has notified 6,440 students and alumni after personal information was found publicly available online. A file on a university web site contained names, Social Security numbers, term and class information, email addresses, and university ID numbers. In the letter to affected individuals, the university offers twelve (12) months of credit monitoring through Experian at not cost. In addition, the university also recommends affected individual closely monitor their credit reports for fraudulent activity.
