Stolen Laptop Contains Information on Aspiring High School Students

Abstract
A laptop containing personal information on 184 high school students was stolen from locked closet at Adams State College. This laptop was part of college’s Upward Bound program, which aims to help first-generation, low income high school students improve their potential college success. The college has notified all of the students affected by this theft and advised these students of the steps they should take the prevent identity theft. Adams officials did state that personal student information is no longer kept on personal computers. Adams State College Public Safety office has setup a phone line for anyone with questions about this incident.
