Abstract
The Liberty Coalition discovered that student information was available on a University of Central Florida web site. The web site in question, belonging Dr. Tran of the university's Computer Science Data Systems Group, contained that names and grades of 141 students along with 60 partial Social Security numbers. The files were posted online in December 2002 and affected students enrolled in Dr. Tran's Fall 2000 and Spring 2001 courses. According to the Liberty Coalition, the group contact the university in January 2008 about the files and then followed up with another notification in March 2008. The university removed the files following the second notification, but copies still existed in major search engine caches through mid-April.
