Abstract
Tennessee Tech University is apologizing to over 3,100 students after a mix-up with the billing system sent printed student names and Social Security numbers of the wrong bills. These bills were then addressed to students that did not match up with the Social Security information on the bill. TTU discovered this problem one day after the letters were sent and immediately e-mailed the affected students with tips on preventing Identity Theft. TTU officials are currently investigating measures to prevent such problems in the future. TTU will mail new bills out shortly and waive any late charge resulting from this mix-up.
