Abstract
New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical Center work to inform patients of the possible theft of their personal information. The potential breach was discovered by an internal audit in response to a federal investigation. In total, this incident could affect the names, phone numbers and Social Security numbers of around 40,000 patients. Hospital and medical center officials are working closely with law enforcement to investigate the incident. New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center has setup a hotline for the affected patient to help answer any questions they may have.
